NOTES AND MEMORANDA.

A notice, regarding the straying of a Jersey cow, is published in our advertising columns. Mr Newton King advertises his hay market and mart sale to be held on Saturday. Through this issue we circulate a poster for Mr A. Rawles, draper, announcing/his great end of season sale, which commences on Friday. A girl to assist with housework is wanted. A new shop is to let. The attention of our readers is drawn to the great sale of drapery, purchased at huge discounts, and to bo sold at still further reductions, by Mr H. P. Ross, who is opening up in the premises next to York Chambers and opposite the Bank of New Zealand. The prettiest sight to be seen in Stratford during the year is the interior of the Town Hall on the occasion of the local flower show. The show will be held on March Gth and 7th this year and arrangements are well in hand which will no doubt again bring forth a successful exhibition. Messrs Webster, Dobson and Co. hold their Tahora sheep fair to-mor-row. To-morrow Mr Newton King will hold a furniture sale on account of Mr G. W. Stubbs. Details of the sale appear elsewhere. Messrs Gillies and Nalder hold their annual weaner fair in the Hawera yards to-morrow. Particulars are advertised.
