FOUND DEAD IN BED. Sydney, February 19. 1 Louis Becke was found dead in bed at the York Hotel, where he was staying. He had evidently been working before retiring, as freshly written sheets of manuscript were on the table. Becke had been in ill health for some time, suffering from ’an ' affection of the throat, but he was well enough to have paid several visits on Monday. ' f THE SCOTT FUND. Melbourne, February 19. Mr Fisher (Premier) has approved of Mr Hughes’s suggestion that the Commonwealth and State Governments should'contribute to the Scott Fund.
