The favourable weather for shearing and a splendid market for the wool grower, together with a longer interval between the December and January sales than has been usual in Dunedin, have resulted in as much as 27,813 bales of wool being catalogued for the sale at Dunedin to-day. The total of 27,813 bales is the largest quantity of wool that up till the present time has ever been offered .it any one series of sales either in Dunedin or any one centre of the Dominion. The previous, record (established at the Christchurch sale on Monday last) was 27,096 bales. At that sale, too, a New Zealand record for the largest individual catalogue was created (7733 bales), but this total has been eclipsed by Wright, Stephenson and Co.’s catalogue to be offered at next week’s sale, which lias reached the magnificent total of 8379 bales. The total number catalogued for the January sales at Dunedin lastyear was 21,225 bales. •
