THE RECENT APPOINTMENT
OBJECTED TO BY ORANGEMEN
(Received 9.20 a.m.) Sydney, January 22.
The Grand Lodge of Orangemen of New South Wales passed a resolution protesting against the appointment of Sir Gerald Strickland as Governor of New South AVales, he being a Roman Catholic, whereas the population of the State was overwhelmingly Protestant. The resolution has been forwarded to the Premier for transmission to His Majesty the King.
