DROWNED IN A BUCKET OF WATER.

New Plymouth, January 22.
An elderly woman named McMillan, the widow of Robert McMillan, living at Omata with her daughter (Mrs. Bovott), was found drowned early this morning with her head in a bucket of water.
BURNED IN A BUSH FIRE
Gisborne, January 22.
Nathaniel Mclntyre, a shcepfarmer at Morere, went out to burn some bush yesterday, and, not returning, his people became alarmed. A search party went out and'found him burned to death. Deceased was a most progressive member of the County Council, and was highly respected in the entire county. Ho leaves a wife and one adopted child.
