In Section 13 (first round) Bell (Wellington) 24, beat Power (Te Kuiti) 19; Hudson (Mount Eden) 19, beat Haldane (Takaka) 10. In Section C (first round) ?fash (Palmerston North) 25, beat Cohen (Wanganui), 12; Prince (Newtown) 21, beat Casey (.Grey Lynn) 18. A consolation match for those defeated in their sections is now proceeding in sixteen sections of four teams each.
