THE PAHI MYSTERY.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, December 18
After search parties had scoured the country, dragging the river for two days, Duffaur—who disappeared from the time Sayers was found dead on the road as a result from a fall from a horse—appeared at the National Bank at Paparoa last night, in an exhausted condition. Otherwise he was unhurt, but was unable to answer questions, or give any information.
“SOME COLOUR OF RIGHT.”
Westport, December 18
The Magistrate dismissed the information against Smitli and Syron on a charge of blowing np the bridge on the highway at Mokihinui. He held that they had some colour of right in believing the structure was dangerous and thinking it was the property of their employers.

A parade was called at Millerton, but those liable to military training produced no response.
