FIRES.
A fire occurred at Mr Hall’s house at Maketawa on Sunday evening shortly before nine o’clock, when the house and contents were completely destroyed. As the lire had a good hold when discovered there was no hope for its extinction (states the Inglewood .Record) from the first, and nothing could be done but, practically, to watch it burn.
