NEW OIL COMPANY.

fiPer Press Association.) New Plymouth, December 7. A new company, called the Taranaki Oil Lands Acquisition and Development Company, with a capital of £oo.ooo, has been successfully floated by E. Griffiths and Co. ; £25,000 £1 shares are to be allotted, and now 20,000 are already applied for, chiefly by Blenheim people. The provisional directors are Messrs. R. F. Coulter, G. McKay, J. Barry, and E. Griffiths. Rights have been acquired over nearly 1200 acres at Moturoa and surrounding district. An expert named Federowiez is now on his way from London to take charge of operations, and two drilling outfits are also on the water. The directors expect to start work at the end of January. Drillers are accompanying the plant from London.
