A. AND P. MATTERS.
Nothing succeeds like success, and this aptly applies to the energy put. forth by the Stratford A. and P. Association to make each succeeding Show a greater success than its fore-runner. The Association is to be congratulated on the number of entries received for t..c forthcoming Snow. Last year a record was put up in the number of entries received and tiie entries sent in this year exceed those of last year in all the main sections. The entries received up to this afternoon total 2.83 in the cattle section, 335 for dogs, and 469 horses. Sheep have not been entered in great numbers, ami this section may be deemed the only class that may not be termed strong. Pigs, poultry, and dairy produce have Idled welj. Home industries total in the final count to 437. Last year a large number of classes were scheduled for | home industries, but it was found that the number of exhibits received rather crowded the pavilion, and it was deemed necessary to curtail the classes this year, otherwise the entries would have been much greater in this section. Everything on the showgrounds requiring attention has been overhauled, and the whole of the details necessary to be carried out have been attended to. Those who attend the Show for the purpose of studying the stock and other exhibits will find plenty to occupy their attention, while the large percentage who make the fixture an occasion for an enjoyable.-day out will be attracted by the numerous side-shows which provide no end of amusement. There is little doubt the picturesque showgrounds will induce many families to make a picnic of
.which ever day they may attend. Hot water will be supplied to those requiring it. Excursion railway fares will be issued on both show days. Meals and refreshments will be supplied as heretofore on the grounds. With fine weather the gate returns should he gratifying to the Association’s executive. ■ L, |
