PRESBYTERIAN HOME MISSIONS.
(Per Press Association.) , Wellington, November 10. Further discussion on the question of Home Missions occupied the attention of the Presbyterian General Assembly to-day. Reference was made to the difficulty of securing suitable men for the work. It was finally decided to take steps to procure the services of ten suitable men from England. The Assembly also resolved to empower the Horne Missions Committee to negotiate with the Colonial Committee of the United Free Church of Scotland for the supply of five licentiates of the Church for service in New Zealand. The augmentation of Stipends Fund was adopted. The object of the Fund is to augment the stipends of ministers of smaller sanctioned charges in the northern section of the Church. The aim of the .Church is to provide such a sum as to -secure a stipend of £250, exclusive of manse or house allowance. The funds are to be administered by a joint committee of twelve members.
