Mr. Semple, in the course of a speech at a mooting of Kim Ily miners, emphasised the. fact that lack of funds necessitated the decision of the executive advising the men to return to work. It was better to give the Federation a chance, and light it out to a finish at Reef ton and Waihi than to risk failure all over. The financial factor was a tremendous hurdle. The Federation’s recommendation was adopted, hut a further motion was carried “That in the event of any further victimisation the whole body of men refrain from going down the mine.”
