THE AUSTRALIAN WOOL CLIP. Sydney, September 26, The loss to the Australian wool clip caused by the drought is expected to amount to £5,000,0U0. TALLOW MARKET. London, September 25. Tallow.—At the wool sales 3321 casks tallow were offered, ■ and 3168 sold. Fine mutton sold at 40s 6d, others at par to 6d advance. LONDON WOOL SALES. ‘
London, September 23. At the wool sales the Thistle clips brought: Top price 13,id, average llfd. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency ,Co. have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date ' 24th instant i Wool Sales: There was a full attendance at the opening of the sales today, competition by Homo and Continental buyers being active and prices as compared with the close of preceding senes ruled in sellers’ favour. The opening catalogues were not representative. As compared with last sales closing rates prices are higher about par to 5 per cent., fine crossbred, medium crossbred, merino. As compared with last sales closing rates prices are higher about 5 to 7j per cent, hrpsshred coarse. Wool suitablle for America has not been offered.
