Mr Sheffield stater, that on Thursday night four girls interviewed Mrs Sheffields, stating that they would not work with one girl (alaundress) as her sympathy was not with the strikers. Mrs Sheffield replied that she could not be dictated to re whom she employed, and if they didn't like working with the girl they could take 37 hours' notice.
