(Otago) one for the winners. Miss Perrett (Wanganui), who was the host forward on her side, scored twice for the North. It was a fast and exciting game. THE CHAMPIONSHIP. WAIRARAPA AND HAWKE’S BAY DRAW. Christchurch, September 10. The final of the tournament was played at Lancaster Park this afternoon in warm weather. A strong ncitijwest wind was blowing down 'the ground. There was a large attendance of spectators. The teams were: Hawke’s Bay: Goal, Miss M. Morrison; full-backs. Misses J. Burden and M. Burden ; halves, Misses Swain-*, Humphries .and G.'.Morrison ; forwards,. Miss Hitt, Miss Thompson, Mrs Maddison, Miss Crawley and Mis Harrison. Wairarapa; Goal, Miss Gallon; fullbacks, Misses Humphries and heard: 'halves, Misses .Higgins, Terry and

Sage; forwards, Misses Neilson, Hewson, 1 O’Leary, Orr, and /. Humphries. There was a great disparity in si/.-e between tlio teams, Wairarapa being quite, little girls, hardly beyond the schoolgirl stage. Hawke’s Bay v,ere far more stalwart and taller. 'flu match was evenly contested, and m Score was recorded, although Miss Noilsou. should have scored for Wairarapa on one occasion. Hawke’s Bay play ed the more scientific hockey, but Wairarapa excelled in passing, intercepting and fast running alongside the lines. Both circles wore hotly attacked during the match, hut the haemand goals managed to clear. As neither side scored, the cup w'ilt he held Ini six months eac h by Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa.
