THE WHEAT MARKET. London, May 23. Wbeat.-r-An Australian cargo sold 'at 39s 9d. MOUNT LYELL RETURNS. (Received 24, 9.20 a.m.) Sydney, May 24. _ The Mount Lyell returns from April 18th to May 15th, inclusive, show that 20,101 tons of ore were treated, also 41 tone of purchased ore. ...he converters produced 358 tons of blister copper, yielding 354 tons of copper. 35,2770 z of silver, and 5620 z of gold. EXCHANGE~RATE RAISED. (Received 24, 40 a.m.) London, May 2.°-. The banks have advanced the rater of exchange on London, by five shillings per cent. THE PRICE OE FLOUR*, (Per Prees Association.) Duncdin, May 23. With flour at £8 15s per ton, and the high prices at present ruling for wheat,' it is freely asserted that millers are running their mills at a loss. One miller stated to-day that he reckoned he was losing £lO per week with his present diminished output, and he would have to consider the question oi dosing the mill until wheat got cheaper or flour dearer. He quoted figures to show that he was losing 19s 9d per ton' on ilqur.
