iPer Press Association.)
Auckland. May 13
The investigation of Ihe charges against the administrative and disciplinary methods of the lady superintendent of the Auckland Hospital (Miss Griffiths) was commenced to-day hy the Hospital Board, and six of eleven complaints made hy the medical committee were examined. Much evidence was taken regarding the relations between the matron and the nursing stall, and between the matron and the medical staff. During the proceedings there were frequent displays of warm feeling. There was much bickering among members, and several stormy interludes delayed the enquiry. Just 'before it was adjourned one member made a remark of such a charaster that Dr. Maguire, senior medical officer of the hospital, withdrew from the rom, and then there was a heated exchange between the same member and Dr? Pahst. A general withdrawal if thi‘ remarks to which objection was taken preceded the adjournment.
