SOUND CONDEMNATION OF THE NEW BILL.

(Per Press Association i Timaru, May 1. At the annual meeting of ratepayers of the Gerahline Road district to-day Mr. W. S. Maslin, cx-M.P., .soundly eondenniod the Local Government Bill especially the financial provisions, and on his motion, seconded by the chairman of the Board, a resolution of condemnation was unanimously carried. Mr. Maslin pointed out that the . cost of education can he largely thrown upon the rates and also a larger proportion of the cost of hospitals and charitable aid institutions.
