SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

BIRD ROAD. At the annual meeting of householders held in the Bird Road School on Monday night thirty were present. Mr. J. Kenny was voted to the chair, and the secretary read the report and balance-sheet, which showed a credit of £l6 Os 7d. Mr. Bowling moved the adoption of the report and balancesheet, which was carried unanimously. Nine candidates were proposed for tlio new committee, the ballot resulting as follows:—J. Pattinson 18, L. E. Haim 28, G. S. Giddy 21, J. Kenny 23, E: Boyde 21, H. Bowling 17, J. W. Crowe 18, J. Rogers 15, L. Haim 17. Messrs. Bowling and L. Hann having scored a tie, the Chairman gave his casting vote in favour of the sitting member, Mr. H. Bowling, and declared the first seven duly elected a committee for the ensuing'year. At a subsequent meeting L. E. Haim was elected chairman and secretary.
