WHEAT SHIPMENTS
'By Electric Telegraph.—Copyrigrt.) (United Press Association.) London, April 1. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is -1,180,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,930,000. At- 1 lantic shipments 195,000, Pacific 20.000. Tne total for Europe was 1,175,000 including Argentina 354,000, Russian 135,000, Dauubian 193,000, India and Persia 47,000, Australasia 125.000.

LONDON MARKETS
The following is exerpted from tin weekly report dated February 22m received by the iNcw Zealand Loai and Mercantile Agency Co. from tin London house:—
Wool.—Since the close of the firs series a quiet tone has prevailed ii the home manufacturing centres a; regards new business, though top makers and spinners continue to b well employed on old contracts. Va lues have tended in favour of bus ers, the threatened general coal strik being a disturbing factor, while busi ness with the Continent has boon din appointing. In America a firm bu quiet market is reported. The export, of wool from Bradford to the TJnitec States during January show a mark cd increase as compared with the coi responding month last year, and should this state of affairs continm crossbred generally may be expectc. to benefit.
Sheepskins.—At the auctions lief, from 3Lst January to 2nd install there was a full attendance of buyer: including operators on American ac count 'and with fairly active bidden, the bulk of the offering of abou 7000 bales Australian was cleared Prices generally showed but little v. nation from those established at th preceding sales December 13th to 15th coarse crossbred combing, however, be ing fully -R1 per lb dearer.
