THE REBELS DEFEATED WITH HEAVY LOSS. THE REBEL NAVY. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association. * Mexico City, March 27. A battle at Jimenez, not at Jaurez resulted in the defeat of the rebels. Heavy losses were sustained on both sides. The Federals arc now •■attacking strongly and hold the rebels’ position near the scene of the former battle. It is reported that the seaport at Mazaltan has been bombarded by a rebel gunboat, the rebels attacking the city from landwards simultaneously. There was considerable loss of life. The Federals are holding the city strongly.
