IN THE COURTS.
(Per Press Association.') Wanganui, March 20. At the Magistrate’s Court, a bookmaker named Plane was charged with betting on licensed premises. The charge was dismissed, as there was not corroborative evidence. On a further charge of laying totalisator odds defendant was fined £2O. Masterton, March 20.. At tlie Supreme Court to-day Horace Carter, on a charge of theft, was found guilty and admitted to eighteen months’ probation, and ordered to pay costs.
