The addition to the house is now practically completed, and work _is expected to be finished about the middle of this week. The big dining-room and the private bedrooms provided should receive a full quota of patrons, and the arrangement of the rooms leaves notion to be desired. CONDITION OF THE TRACK.
The track at present, is far from being in the best of condition, but that is not to say that the mountain season is over as far as the Stratford house is concerned. The track was badly cut up as the result of carting timber up for the addition to the buildings; but it has been re-graded in a number of places, and with suitable weather would very soon dry up, and very little work would put it in food condition. It is sincerely to bo oped that those optimists who hold that a year cannot expire \without some settled weather being experienced are in the right. Fine weather from the present time till the beginning of autumn is by no means a “tall •order.” PRESENT PATRONAGE. The number visiting the house at present is somewhat small, as the weather .is all against : trips, but with fine for Easter the .number, of 'visitors for the year should* be increased. A number of people have signified their intention of staying {it the house for periods as soon as the weather takes on a settled bent. PARK BOARD MEKONG/ A meeting of the JEgipqnt ■ National Park Board will be held at the Stratford house on Wednesday.
