Greymouth, February 16
After protracted sittings the Wharf Labourers’ Union yesterday afternoon agreed to insist on three demands; (1) Payment of 3s 6d per hour for all work after 5. p.m. on Saturdays; (?) no ~work between midnight* and 7 i a.nl. for three months during the winter except at 3s 6d per hour; ,(3) payment of 3s per hour ■ when dealing with explosives. Subsequently a motion was passed that the, union! executive confer, with Mr Semple and the Federation of Labour- in regard to future- negotiations.:. It' is understood, that Mr Semple advocated interviewing the Union. Qo’s general manager in regard’.io !’future negotiations. This course'Was adopted.
