A .married man named Walter Hu ruby, a resident of Avondale, drank Lysol on Saturday and is now in hospital in a precarious condition. The dead body of a fully-developed female child about three weeks old, perfectly nude, was found in the harbour on Sunday. Apparently it was in the water for about five days. Thero is no clue as to identity.
At eleven o’clock on Saturday night a half-caste Islander was found lying at the edge of the Queen Street wharf, unconscious. He was dressed only in a pair of bathing trunks, and a slouch hat and light shoes. All the police could got from him were unintelligible mutterings. There is nothing to indicate that he is the victim of foul play. One surmise is that the man swam ashore from a vessel in the stream.
