THE TERRITORIALS.
INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF FOUND INADEQUATE.
SIXTY-FOUR MORE INSTRUCTORS TO BE APPOINTED.
(Per Press Association.)
Wellington, February 8,
Tho present staff of military instructors has been found to be quite inadequate to cope with the largo numbers of Territorials and senior cadets now in course of training. It has, therefore, states tho “Evening Post,” been decided to appoint sixteen additional sergeant-major instructors in each of the four military districts, making a total of 61 more instructors. The object of the Defence authorities is to have the training carried out as near the home of the youths as possible so as to avoid their losing working time. Appointments will be open to present serving Territorials, but if sufficient officers cannot be obtained from this force then applications will be entertained from ex-Tcrritorials and from New Zealand South African Oontingonters and from ex-imperial army men resident in New Zealand.
