(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) Sydney, February 3. The cruiser Prometheus, en route to China, put in to Ambonia owing to further defects in her boilers. The Cambrian has been ordered to lAmbonia to convoy the Prometheus to China. Brown, general manager of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, has been re-arrested on a second charge of conspiring with the MacPherson Company’s accountant to defraud Singers of various sums totalling £12,714. He was admitted to bail. An employee of the Broken Hill municipal lighting works had a fatal electric shock while attendng to a wire. Melbourne, February 3. Two boys, brothers named Middlemiss, were drowned while bathing in the Campaspe River.
