A RAID BY BANDITS.

Several armed bandits raided a rich native contractor’s house near Cairo, assaulted the occupiers, and stole much money and jewellery. They fired on the mounted police, who replied till their ammunition was exhausted. The brigands escaped. The police pursued them, capturing three. The contractor is dead, and six other ’nmates of the house are in a precarious condition.
