BUSH FIRES AM) HEAT

Tnero are many high registers in the country, the glass at Browarrina reading 118 in the shade. (Received 24, 9.50 a.m.) Sydney, January 2-1. A bush lire destroyed seven thousand acres of grass at Glen Maggie station, Tumut. Large areas were swept elsewhere. A fire at Therock destroyed Maclnre’s large store and dwelling. The damage is £BOOO.
FROZEN MEAT IN LONDON

A universal supervisor of Australian meat in London has been appointed as the outcome of complaints of the condition of meat on arrival.

A report presented to the Masters’ Juilders’ Association states that the ■ost of buildings completed in Sydney and suburbs last year was £3,’25,000. Many others were partially milt.
