STRATFORD GUN CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Gun Club was held last night, Mr. A. Stewart (president) being in the caair. The adoption of the report and bal-ance-sheet was moved by Mr. N. I*'. Dunlop. In seconding tho motion, the president said that the club had made very good progress, and there was no reason why the club’s position should not be improved. There was no reason why good shots should not be produced in the district. Many people had difficulty in getting away to shoots, but the sport was a good one, and was worth a little sacrifice. He intended to present a trophy valued at a guinea for presentation in connection with the Nobel Cup competition. He saw no reason why the club should not make good progress during the coming year. ' The report and balance-sheet? were adopted. , , The following officers were elected: —President, Mr. A. Stewart; vicepresidents, Messrs. E. Kirkwood and W. Lovett; N. E. Dunlop, W. J. Morrison, W. P. KirkWood, H. Campbell, W. R. Davis, A. Scott, and’H. Wickham; chairman of committee, Mr. W. P. Kirkwood; patron, Mr. W. P. Kirkwood; secretary, Mr. G. D. Hunter ; match committee, tho general committee; handicapper, Mr. W. J. Morrison. 7 The annual subscription was fixed at the same amount as last year (live shillings). . , On the motion of the Chairman, it was decided to record on the minutes the club’s satisfaction at the efforts during the nast year of the secretary (Mr. Hunter), and the handicapped (Mr.. Morrison). ■ It was decided to hold a sweepstake shoot on February Ist, and to start the shoots for the Cup on February loth, these to bo continued at fortnightly intervals. Entrance fees were fixed at tho same amount as last year. It was decided to write to the Racing Club, asking for the use of their property during the season, and also to the Golf Club, asking for the use of their premises. It was decided to thank the Racing Club for use of their property during the - past year. A -vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the meeting.
