THE KING AND QUEEN.
ADVISERS WISHED THEM NOT TO VISIT INDIA. BIG TOUR PROJECTED;
(Received 16, 8.30 a.m.) London, January 15. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Calcutta correspondent says that it is generally believed that the King went to India against the strongly expressed wishes of his Ministers, who considered he was running a risk _in view of the many cases of sedition. The King and Queen made light of the danger, believing that none of their Indian subjects would attempt a Royal assassination. The King is of opinion that the Empire is much strengthened by occasional visits _ from the reigning monarch to all its greater parts. It is understood that he pressed this view on his advisers. The correspondent adds that he has it upon very high authority that the King and Queen wish- to revisit Australia, Canada, and South Africa at an early date.
