POSITION OF THE NEW- SOUTH . wales commissioner; o>■ ABSENCE OF FRICTION ALLEGED. Sydney, January 8. The Railway Commissioner had an interview with the acting-Premier, Mr Reshy, in reference to the proposed eight hours day for railwaymen, and other matters. Mr Beeby subsequently stated he wished to remove the impression of any strained relations between the Government and the Commissioner, and reiterated that the Government had no desire to re-establish the old political control of railways.
