The Government has secured 400 acres at Kensington with the intention of immediately proceeding with the erection of cottages to the value of £IB,OOO. Mr Dacey states this is the beginning of a policy to build so as to bring rents down to a fair market level. The Government is fully alive to the fact that owing to the shortage of houses steps must lie taken to relieve the existing pressure. FIVE THOUSAND PEOPLE TO BE ACCOMMODATED. The property will be controlled by a non-political board on strictly business lines.
