ALMOST CONTINUOUS HEAVY RAIN. TWO EARTHQUAKE SHOCKS. (Tor Press Association.) Dunedin, December 28. Two distinct earthquake shocks were felt here to-night, shortly before ten o’clock, lasting about lb seconds. Heavy vain has been falling almost the whole of the day. and the residents of North East Valley, who suffered severely on Sunday as a result of a cloud burst, are again having a very anxious time. This afternoon a few residents of the lower levels were alarmed by the vise of Lindsay’s Creek, but no actual damage was done. Rain felj heavily, however, throughout the evening, and it is understood that there was two feet nr three feet of water at Roberts’ store near the Gardens at 11 p.m. It is also stated that the ears were unable to nrocecd beyond the Gardens after 10. lb p.m. At 11.15 p.m. rain is still falling heavily.
