FIRE BRIGADE FETE.
“A DANCING TOUR OF THE
WORLD.”' SYNOPSIS OF SCENES. A synopsis of “A Dancing Tour of the World” is as follows:—The curtain rises on a scene laid in Japan, where a fete to amuse His August Majesty the Mikado is in progress. Billikens are frolicking to and fro, dancing, singing, and symbolising at their will. An army of dancers arrive to help to swell the fete—Parisians on t;:c spree—who do some most grotesque work. This number fairly captivates the human swing. A party of washer wo men arrive to do honour to the Mikado. This number is a buttonburster. Next in turn are the Shepherdism of Switzerland, followed by the Norwegian Sash Dancers. Yq Olde Englyshe Gavotte is a very pretty number, the costumes being of the period of Henry VIII., and correct to a degree. The Suffragettes’ March vm Stratford is a series of very pretty evolutions. The first part of the programme is brought to a climax by. i party of ballet dances, causing the wrath, of His Majesty, that he summons Mephistophelc-s, who immediately changes Summer to Winter. A party of Russian skaters go through some difficult work on a very limited stage. The second part of the programme opens with the electric swing song. In this number a bevy of feminine youth and beauty swing out into the audience to the strains of beautiful music. This number alone will please the patrons to make them pay a return visit. A captivating love romance, danced and acted by Professor Cardston with Miss Watts-Card-
r.ton, will lie presented here for _ the first time in New Zealand, entitled Bade D’Amur. The dance is grotesque in the extreme. The Lily Ballet
and tlie Danse Des Flores are all new to those parts. Altogether patrons are in for a real treat when the curtain rises on Monday. The booking efface is at Mr. Grubb’s music warehouse. In. view of the crush likely to be present on Monday, it is strongly advisable to book seats at once.
