RUSSIANS MUTILATED
(Tly Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) St. Petersburg, December 23. Messages to baud here state that the Persians fired on the Russians from the roofs of houses at iahnz and the bodies of Russians were horribly mutilated.
REINFORCEMENTS SENT
St. Petersburg, December 20. After ministerial consultation the Viceroy of the Caucasus has been ordered to send the largest possible ieinforcernents to Tabriz.
CONFLICT TERMINATED ?
London, December 24. Reports to hand from Teheran slate that the Persian Government has informed the provincial authorities cf the termination of the conflict wun Russia. They have been instructed to stop hostilities. The Russian Minister states that the Persian Cabinet has given a general assurance that it will comply with Russian demands.
MEJLISS DISSOLVED
Teheran, December 25. At the instance of the Cabinet the Regent has dissolved the Mejhss. Cabinet lias unconditionally yielded to the Russian ultimatum. The Governor of Tabriz estimates that tno Russians killed 500 Persians.
DISINTEGRATION ?
London, December 20. The Times’ Teheran correspondent, telegraphing on the 24th, mentions that he fears provincial disintegration, and adds that it has apparently been arranged by the Regent that Cabinet should conduct the administration, supported by the presence of Russian troops at Kazvin, within telephone call of the capital. The Russian legation declared tne reply to the ultimatum was satisfactory, and telegraphed to Tabriz that the question was. settled, . but tne Russian general replied he would obey only the Viceroy of the Caucasus. Mr Morgan Sinister assented to tne ultimatum to him.
The Regent, addressing a meeting of merchants, who were summoned to the palace, declared the Mejliss had impeded the actions of the adm lustration internally and externally, and must therefore be closed. 1 A rescript • announced that the session was ended, but continued no mention of an election. Tabriz must pay'an indemnity to the families of Russian soldiers killed. REVOLTING ATROCITIES. (Received 27, 8.25 a.ra.) Teheran, December 26. The Russian attacks at Tabriz and Resht commended almost simultaneously. Many Government and twenty police officials at Resht were killed. Consular reports indicate that the attack at Resht was begun by the Russian Consul, who is now Governor. Order has been restored. The massacre has been proceeding at Tabriz since Sunday, when five hundred were killed, including women and children. The people_were exhorted not to give the slightest provocation, but the massacres continue. An official telegram states that the Russian outrages .at Tabriz surpass those at Tripoli. Houses were entered indiscriminately, and women violated in the presence of their relatives. Artillery " mow,ed down every living creature in the streets. Fierce lighting continues. The Russians are hard pressed and many were killed. The Persians are stupified at Russia’s attitude following upon Persia’s acceptance of the second ultimatum and her manifestation of every desire to conciliate and (establish friendly relations. Russian police dispersed an indignation meeting convened for the Bazaar at Teheran to protest against the coup d’etat involved in the dissolution of the Mejliss. All the newspapers have been suppressed except one named “Mejliss,” which supports the Cabinet. Martial law has been proclaimed. Advices from Shirlez state that Persian troops arc guarding the Kashgar Road.
