The Miners’ Conference, representing 700,000 members, are discussing the question of a minimum wage. The delegates of South Wales, Northumberland and Scotland favour a national strike. The militant section inis increased, and it is believed it is strong enough to reverse the November decision against the strike. COTTON WORKERS GO OUT. London, December 21. A campaign in the Lancashire cotton area against non-unionists culminated in a strike of weavers. The mill masters of North and North-East Lancashire meet to decide upon a course of action. A general lock-out of a hundred thousand is feared.

The conference of miners resolved to hold a ballot nn January 10th, and if a two-thirds majority favour a strike work will be stopped at the end of February.
SYDNEY WHARF WORKERS
Sydney, December 21
Though much discontented at the award, the wharf labourers worked as usual to-day. Following recent practice, they knocked off at 5 to-night instead of 5.30, the hour fixed under tho agreement. It is thought probable that no further move is at present pending. It is proposed to appeal against the award.
AUCKLAND TRAM TROUBLE SETTLED.

The tramway trouble is happily settled, and the men have agreed to accept the amended offer of the company, bringing the total concessions made by the company to over £IO,OOO per annum, as compared with the £16,000 demanded.
