BOY SCOUTS.

INSTRUCTIVE LECTURE BY THE REV. BUTLER.

MORE ENERGY WANTED

Lately the local Boy'Scouts have flagged somewhat in the interest h 1 scouting matters generally, and the weekly meetings liave consequently lapsed. On Wednesday last, however, the Rev. W. A. Butler gave a lecture on Japanese methods of defence, which was listened to with much appreciation by the boys. To-night another meeting will be held, when Mr. Butler will continue his lecture. It is hoped that this meeting will bo well attended, and that the Scouts will turn up in full force and show renewed interest in their work, enabling the weekly meeting to be a real live feature of the scout movement. Members of the local staff have expressed their willingness at some future date to be present at one of the meetings and relate a few of their experiences in the Boer war.
