NEWTON KING’S STRATFORD WEEKLY REPORT.
At the Haymarket on Saturday there was a largo attendance, also a very heavy yarding of pigs came forward, all of which, with the exception of one pen, being cleared at the hammer. Prices ruling were on a par with last sale. I quote:—Slips and weaners 7s 6d, 12s Gd to 17s Gd, small stores £1 2s Gd to £1 ss, medium £1 7s to £1 10s, good do. £1 13s; lambs 9s to 13s; calves Is to 2s 6d: horse £3.
At the Mart.—A largo entry of all classes of birds came forward, and the demand was equal to the supplv, the whole line being cleared. Cockerels lOd to Is 3d. pullets Is 3d, killing roosters Is GcT to 2s, killing hens Is 4d to 2s; ducklings Is Gd to 2s Id, ducks Is 8d to 2s Id ; geese 3s 6:1 to 4s; turkeys 8s to 10s, new potatoes 3d to Id lb; old potatoes 6s to 9s sack; gooseberries 3d lb, cabbage 3s do/.., furniture, drapery, Wall paper, and sundries selling at usual rates.
