CRICKET.

I !.! ■ i-aifsrd Cricket Club played Heir first cap match of the season against Fltham on the latter’s ground yesterday afternoon. Neither side had had much practice, and the cricket, consequently, with a few exceptions, was not a very high order. Fltham, batting first, put up a total of 03, of which Sullivan was responsible for -10. He made his runs with some good leg strokes, and would probably have remained iineonqiiered had he not tried to puli a slow “yorker from Boyos, who was one of the most successful bowlers of the day. Stratford, in spite of a useful 15 from Dunlop, and a ten from Jackson, wore unable to catch • up, and the innings closed for, 18, Fltham thus winning by 20 runs. Following are tbo scores ; ELTHAM.—First Innings.
