A DEFECTIVE VALVE.
CITY OF LINCOLN FATAL EXPLOSION. SHIP PEOPLE EXONERATED. (Received 9, 11.0 a.m.) Adelaide, December 9. The Marine Board found the City >o£ Lincoln explosion was caused by the neglected and defective nature of a stop-valve. Such valves should be specially designed with an exceptional factor of safety. They found that no one connected with the ship was in any manner blameworthy for the mishap.
