THE STRATFORD LADDERS

Next Thursday a team of six ladies and six gentlemen from New Plymouth, will play a series of matches with the Stratford Club. The latter have certainly been unfortunate in the weather, which has either been too windy for an enjoyable game or raining so hard that play was impossible. The ladder competitions, • however, have been progressing favourably, some good games being played, notably a recent match in which V. Crawshaw and E. H. Young, challanger, fought for third place, Crawshaw ultimately winning—6—5, o—6, 6—5. The present state of the ladder is as follows for the first eight in the competitions Men. Don Cameron, 11. B.
