TARANAKI SHOW.
THIRTY-SEVENTH SHOW. The Taranaki A. and P. Society’s thirty-seventh Spring Show opened yesterday, tho weather being squally and boisterous. This naturally affected the attendance. Tho entries of stock were much larger than has ever previously been tho case, horses showing an increase of 03, sheep 35, dogs •250, and dairy produce eight. Cattle show a falling-olf of seven entries, aid pigs five. In addition, the quality of the exhibits was of a high standard, and there wore excellent specimens of tho various breeds. The dog section was strong, and included prize-takers from sonic of tlie biggest shows in both 1 islands. 'Flic various officials worked splendidly, and did not allow the weather to damp their ardour. Mr A. Cliff, the secretary, gave courteous attention to all. Dairy Produce. Tho Dairy Produce Competitions resulted as under:— JEST BOX FACTORY BUTTER, not less than 501 b. First prize, .Messrs Lovell and Chiistmas’ Challenge Trophy of tho value of 75gns, to go to*the factory, and to lie won three years in succession or five times at intervals. And £lO 10s cash, with certificate, to go to the make of the butter each year. Second prize, the Society’s award of £5 ss. Third prize, tho Society’s award of £2 2s.
