BRITISH PREMIER DENIES NECESSITY. WOMEN TO “DEMONSTRATE.” (Received 18, 9.10 a.m.) London, November 17. Tim Premier, replying to a Suffragette deputation, declined to introduce a measure conferring the franchise on the same terms as men, because he did not believe it was demanded in the country’s interest. The Government would yield if women presnaded the. majority of the House of Commons to give the vote. The deputation is dissatisfied and announce that a demonstration will he made, in Parliament Square on. Tuesday. The Liberty, Property, and Defence League are organising, counter-picketing, utilising men trained in the police, military and naval forces.
