BRITISH OPPOSITION.
POLICY OUTLINED BY NEW LEADER. SPEECH BY MR. BONAR LAW. London, November 17. Mr. Bonar Law, speaking at Lends, declared the Unionists would strenuously resist Welsh Disestablishment, which had nothing to support it. except prejudice and bigotry, i lie Insurance Bill was passing the llmism of Commons mechanically. Vim v : tal interests of tho whole commim tv were being sacrificed to make a c.tar road for Homo Rule. The recessip' for retaining the Nationalists’ support was the' sole cause c the failure of last year’s conference. The Nationalists neither knew nor cared about British political questions. Therefore it was intolerable that they should dominate British politics. This view was once held by Mr. Asquith. The Government’s reformed second chamber would probably arrive after Home Rule had passed. The recent industrial unrest, ho said, was the ripened fruit of tho seed sown diming the Budget campaign, when the poor wore led to expect a golden age. r ! ho promotion of social reform without tariff reform would only .nereiso tho hum her of poor and create unemployment.
