A SALE POSTPONED. (Per Press Association.) The sale oi' sections in a block near Alexandra, Central Otago, recently cut np for sale as fruit farms and commanded by the Last Chance water race, recently purchased by the Government, did not eventuate today. At the outset of proceedings the autioneor notified that the sale was postponed. The announcement of sale contained the following: “The Government irrigation races command all tliis freehold and water will be supplied to holders at a small rental per annum per holding.” It transpired that no such arrangement had been come to either as to the supply of water or as to price, and the Minister in charge: of the Public Works Department claimed that intending buyers shall bo in possession of this fact. FLOUR DOWN TEN SHILLINGS. Dunedin, November 15. The Flourmillers’ Association has reduced the price of flour by 10s per ton. THE ELINGAMITE CAPTAIN. Wellington, Novendtor 15. In accordance with the special Act of Parliament passed last session, Captain Atwood, master of the wrecked Huddart Parker steamer Elingamite, will shortly have the.opportunity of appealing against the decision of the marine enquiry given in lOO.’i. Accused was i> manded till next Wednesday for sentence on charges oi false pretences and theft, and was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence on the charges of forgery.

TWO MEN BADLY INJURED. Blenheim, November 15. Herbert Horne was. engaged in lookrg after the Tangye engine usMl in working the shearing machines at the Marlborough Show to-day, when his clothing caught in the eccentric of mo timing shaft, and he was drawn round the'shaft. All his clothing was torn off him except his boots. His won was broken and his flesh badly torn about, and hurt in the body, it is not known to what extent. His mother Leonard went to his rescue, and was also caught by the arm, vhich was badly broken in two places. Both were taken to the hospital in an •ambulance. GOVERNOR ON TOUR. Christchurch, , November 15. His Excellency the Governor leaves Christchurch on Friday on an extend'd tour through the South Island. He returns to Christchurch on November 29, and leaves for Dunedin by the Mokoiu for the Dunedin Show on November 30. He will drive to Portobcllo on December 1, and will return to Christchurch on December 2.
