AN ITALIAN LEAPS FROM A TRAIN. PROM PT RECAPTURE. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, November 11. An Italian named Salvetta Dario, who came to New Zealand in the barque Australia and is prohibited from, remaining in the Dominion liecause be is unable to pass the education test, but who disappeared from Wellington, was arrested at Westport on a charge of false pretences and sentenced'to fourteen days’ imprisonment at Auckland and then ordered to be put aboard his ship. Dario was being escorted to Auckland by Constable Hodgson by the express, and when near Mercer he leapt oil the train, which was travelling at a high rate of speed. The constable saw the man fall and roll over, but he was apparently unhurt as he started running. Dario was recaptured in the afternoon by Constable Sherman at Otahuhu.
