MORE CARE WANTED.
We have received several communications from correspondents in small country centres giving particulars of bow a certain picture entertainment has been along that way, and under promise that the proceeds were to he devoted to the school funds, has drawn good houses., The show itself was merely indifferent, but that is hy the way. What is troubling our country friends is that in no case, so far reported, have the various school funds benefited. The' promoters of the entertainment have absorbed all the takings for “expenses,” and the settlers who supported them are cast down. Further, when, later on, a really first-class picture show came dong, it was shunned, and went sorrowfully away. It would therefore bo '■roll when liberal offers of entertainment to assist schools are made, for people to ascertain exactly who is giving the show and on what basis the takings are to lie apportioned.
