Mr J. Smith,, who headed the poll for the West Riding in the Stratford County Election returns, thanks his supporters for the honour done him, and intimates that in justice to the ratepayers he does not intend to accept Mr Astbnry’s challenge to resign. Young have been elected to the new council.
