MANHOOD SUFFRAGE.
BILL TO BE INTRODUCED
(By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) London, November 8.
Replying to a manhood suffrage deputation, Mr. Asquith said a man’s right to vote ought to depend on Ids citizenship, which was the sole rational course. He would abolish the present qualifications, and give every citizen wiio was a bona liclc inhabitant the franchise automatically. A simple Bill will bo introduced in 1912 with that object. The Bill will not include women, but it is open to the House of Commons to include them if it pleased. General astonishment was expressed in the lobby. It %as understood the Government contemplated six months’ residential qualification.
